> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Your Water Authority may impose additional restrictions on how orders can be placed. For example, there may be restrictions on start times and durations, on notice periods, or on the amount of water you can order in certain periods. There may also be additional charges if you exceed your allocation.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You may also see additional details if your order is affected by rationing. For example, in a ration period you may see details of your delivery share.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If there are problems with your order, a relevant warning will be displayed.

This page describes how to request an order at a metered outlet where you do not need to specify the crops planted. If you are placing an order at an unmetered outlet or using crops and plantings see:

If you are placing an order at a manually planned outlet see:

> ℹ️ This order creation process has been configured to meet specific customer requirements.

You can start creating a new order in one of these ways:

- Tap the **REQUEST ORDER** button at the top left of the Home page.
- Tap the **Add** button at the bottom left of the Orders page.
- Tap **Request Order** on the Outlet list.
- Choose **Repeat Order** from the Order menu (you can also repeat the last order in the Request Order screen in the Flows section).

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you repeat the previous order the system will retain the details of the previous order including the start date and time.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ This is so you can change the date but quickly reuse a preferred start time.

This will open the **Request Order** screen.

# Entering Order Details

Complete the following order details.

> ℹ️ **Notes**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - You will complete the form one step at a time. Click the **Next** button after each step to proceed to the next step.
> ℹ️ - If default settings have been applied for any step then the stepper will skip that step and open at the next incomplete step. You can click back into the previous steps to select different values if you prefer.

## Outlet

Choose the outlet at which you want to place an order. If you have opened the Request Order screen from the Site Details screen, or if there is only one outlet available, then this will be defaulted in for you.

## Water Account

Choose the Water Account for which you want to place an order. This may also be defaulted in for you if appropriate.

## Operator

This value will be defaulted in for you.

## Flows

**Step 1**

Check the channel capacity and check for any Maintenance Periods on the **Water Availability** chart. Tap the chart keys to show any of the following:

- Current demand in pink.
- Available capacity in green.
- Current time.
- Any Maintenance Periods in red.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You will also be notified if you attempt to place an order that conflicts with a Maintenance Period.

Tap the chart to see pop up details of the capacity and demand at any point.

**Step Two**

Enter the flows for the order.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you want to quickly enter the details of the last order you placed, tap the **Repeat** button in the **Last Order** section. You can then enter the new start time and modify any other order details.

For each flow, specify:

- The start time.
- *Either* the order end time or the order duration.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If daylight savings happens to start or finish during your order, the finish time will be the clock time on the day of the order finish. The duration of the order may be adjusted to allow for this.

- The flow rate. As a guide, the minimum and maximum flow rates for the outlet will be displayed below the flow field.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you are lodging an order at an unmetered outlet you don’t need to specify the flow rate - see [Request a New Order at an Unmetered Outlet](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CC/pages/2867658914) for more details.

- Tap the **Add** button in the Flows panel to add another flow.

## Plantings

If your Water Authority requires that you specify crops and plantings then a Plantings step will appear here for configuring the planting details. See [Request an Order Using Crops and Plantings](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CC/pages/2867658866) for more details.

## Stored Water

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - This option is only available if your water authority offers the option.
> ℹ️ - The way that the rationing is implemented (using either flow rate or volume) is set by your Water Authority.

Use this optional step to specify how to use your allocated stored water during a restriction period. You will be prompted to specify either:

- The stored water flow rate (for orders using **only** stored water). This rate will apply during a stored water restriction when only stored water is supplied. The specified rate will be used with the following conditions:
 - The rate **may** be further scaled down by your water authority (although typically it will not be).
 - You must have enough stored water entitlement to supply your requested rate. If you don’t, you’ll only get what water you have available.
- The percentage of the ordered volume that you will accept during rationing. If rationing would reduce your order below this percentage, the order will be topped up to this level using stored water as long as you have enough available.

## Repeat Order

Use this optional step to request orders that will be repeated more than once. See [Request a Repeating Order](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CC/pages/2867659160) for details.

## Messages

Use this optional step to add a message for the Planner to your order. See [Working with Messages on an Order](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CC/pages/2867659176) .

# Lodging the Order

When you have entered enough information to define an order the **Lodge Order **button is enabled. Tap this button when you are ready to lodge your order.

Your order may be scheduled automatically or you may be prompted to confirm the details before it is scheduled. The system may suggest an alternative time or flow configuration for your order if necessary.
