# Confirming an Order

You may need to confirm that you want to go ahead with your order depending on your Water Authority policies. This might be required for all orders or just for orders with suggested changes that you need to approve.

## Confirming Orders in CustomerConnect

If there are pending orders to confirm you’ll see a message when you log in to CustomerConnect, or you can find the orders on your Orders list by selecting the **Show Unconfirmed Only** checkbox at the top of the Orders list. Unconfirmed orders are colour-coded.

Tap **Confirm** to confirm an order.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Unconfirmed orders will always be displayed on the **Current** orders list regardless of their date.

You can also confirm orders from the Order Details form:

After clicking confirm, a pop up dialog will display where you can add an optional message.

## Confirming Orders by SMS

You can also confirm orders by replying to SMS confirmation notifications. You’ll be prompted to reply “Y” to confirm the order and you’ll receive a response when it is successfully confirmed.

- If you have a group of linked orders to confirm, your confirmation request will apply to all the linked orders.
- If you have more, unlinked orders to confirm you’ll be prompted to log into CustomerConnect to manage the remaining orders.

# Why Might Your Order be Rejected or Modified?

If your order can’t be placed or if changes are required, a popup message will let you know and tell you why. Reasons why the order can’t be placed depend on many factors including:

- The available capacity in the channel.
- Restrictions on the flow rate, or the change of flow rate at the regulator.
- The amount of water remaining in your allocation.
- Time restrictions and notice periods that your water authority has applied to ordering.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If there are any notice periods that would affect your [order] you will be alerted to them when you are creating or modifying an order.

- Ration periods or other forms of rationing.
- There may be maintenance periods scheduled for your area that conflict with your order.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You can check for maintenance periods on the Water Availability chart.

- Your outlet may be stopped (this is usually due to maintenance issues with the network or with the outlet).
- Your water account may be stopped (this is usually due to issues with your account - for example, you may be in arrears).

If possible, an alternate time is suggested for your order. You can either accept the alternate time, discard the order (or the order change if you are modifying the order), or add the order to the Planner’s waitlist so they can schedule the order if the situation changes.

# Reviewing Suggested Changes

If possible, CustomerConnect will suggest alternative orders such as an order with a different start time or flow rate.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Your Water Authority may not have configured the system to provide alternative orders in which case this option will not be available,

You can either accept the alternate orders, discard the order (or the order change if you are modifying the order), or add the order to the Planner’s waitlist so they can schedule the order if the situation changes.

To review the alternatives, select an option in the **Selected Alternative** field. If you are happy with an option, click **Accept and Lodge this Alternative**.** **

Otherwise, select *Other Options *and either continue editing the order or add the order to the Planner’s waitlist.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ In this case the order is saved as an Unsatisfied order and the Planner may try to schedule it if capacity becomes available.

# Unsatisfied and Waitlisted Orders

You may also have the option to save unconfirmed orders to a waitlist to alert the Planner that you would like to use that order period.

> ℹ️ **Example**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ For example, there may not be enough capacity to supply your order, or there may be an overlapping order on your outlet.

In this case the order is saved as an Unsatisfied order and the Planner may try to schedule it if capacity becomes available.
